BUTCHERS in Fordingbridge and Downton are celebrating after winning a string of awards for their pork pies and sausages.

Price Farm Foods joined butchers from across the county for the Great Hampshire Sausage and Pie Competition on February 22, which was organised by Hampshire Fare.

Vincent Aldridge, of Price Farm Foods, said: “We’re more than happy. We’ve never had a result like that.

“It’s down to our team. I’m lucky we have got a team that is always innovative and try to push things forward to create new ideas.”

The team swept the boards in the competition being crowned champions in the Traditional Pork Pies category as well as picking up eight golds for best pork sausage and some of their more inventive flavoured sausages including toffee apple pork; lamb, coconut, chilli and lime; and pork, honey and chilli.

They also scooped golds for their honey and beetroot juice bacon, faggots, pork pies and venison beetroot faggots.

To add to their haul of accolades the team also picked up two silver awards.
