TWO long serving members of Salisbury Cathedral have climbed the famous spire to make necessary repairs.
Ecclesiastic carpenter Richard Pike, and clerk of the works Gary Price, made the ascent on Tuesday morning.
The weather door, located halfway up the spire, was the first part of the structure to be repaired, before the duo made their way to the pinnacle and replaced red warning bulbs.
The spire is 404ft high, making it the tallest medieval church in the country.
