THE heir to the throne visited Salisbury Plain on Friday to view a hide belonging to the Great Bustard Group.
Prince Charles was able to see a drive of 12 Great Bustards feeding on the edge of the plain.
The Prince of Wales was able to meet staff of the Great Bustard Project, of whom the majority are volunteers.
The GBG then presented the Prince with a set of Salmon fishing flies which were specially tied using Great Bustard feathers.
The population of the Bustards has grown from 10 to 48 in under three years, and there could be as many as 20 nests in the wild this year.
