POLICE raided a Salisbury house that has hosted regular sex parties for decades amid concerns of prostitution.

Officers made no arrests and found no evidence of sexual exploitation, but did shut down 22 Avon Terrace over antisocial behaviour on Thursday.

A website describes the house as a “swingers parties club” with “the best erotic adult party experience in the South of England.”

Photos show a dancer’s pole, leather beds, mirrored walls and mannequins in fancy dress.

One neighbour told the Journal they had moved to the area last year and had “problems since the first week”. “We noticed partying and a lot of noise. Then we heard stories from the neighbours.”

She said the occupier, Ricardo Harwood, told her he ran a club, but did not say what kind.

“It’s very loud,” she said. “It’s like they’re doing a marathon in there, jumping up and down, up to 11 at night, and in the morning.”

Her son said it affected his sleep and his homework. “It’s not just weekends,” he said, adding: “He’s not shy about it.”

One couple who have lived in the road for more than 20 years said: “Things have escalated. He’s got no consideration for anybody all. He thinks he owns the street.”

Neighbours said “all sorts of people” from builders to solicitors had been seen leaving the house with sleeping bags and suitcases. One said: “Some nights you get posh people in Range Rovers, or foreign people. You don’t want to see the outfits.”

Guests had also been seen “urinating and having sex in the car park”, neighbours said. “It’s what you can hear – it’s not good for children,” said one. “The children ask questions”.

All neighbours interviewed said Harwood had told them the same thing when approached: “If you don’t like it, move.”

More issues arose when he installed four security cameras at the end of the terrace, covering all directions of the street.

One man said: “Everyone around here is so annoyed about those cameras. What does he need them for?”

Some residents had moved away and one had to move a child out of his bedroom because of the noise. One said: “I’m not against him doing what he wants to do, but why doesn’t he get a place out in the country or somewhere quiet?

"In a terraced street it’s wrong, it’s really wrong.”

Wiltshire Council’s public protection officer Rowena Lansdown said the council had “a clear duty to investigate any potential sexual exploitation” after “a number of complaints”.

One neighbour said: “[Ms Lansdown] has done more in one month than they have done in years. It’s been going on too long.

If we could get rid of him, this street would be perfect.”

The council is applying to extend the closure at Salisbury Magistrates Court on May 15.
