AN open garden event at Longford Castle proved to be a great success and raised £7,500 for Salisbury-based charity Horatio's Garden.
The open day took place on Sunday and the money raised will go towards helping spinal injury patients.
Horatio’s Garden creates gardens at NHS spinal injury centres to help with rehabilitation activities for those with spinal injuries.
Charity trustee Olivia Chapple said: “We are just overwhelmed with the support given to Horatio’s Garden by the people of Salisbury. The event on Sunday was such a huge success and I must thank the Countess of Radnor and the entire team at Longford.
"We are now preparing for the Food and Plant Fair this Sunday. These events enable us to run a full programme of activities for the patients and their families at Horatio’s Garden, Salisbury."
The food and plant fair is being held at the Horatios Garden site at the Duke of Cornwall spinal treatment unit from 11am to 3pm.. Entry is free.
The garden will have a selection of artisan and speciality foods from local producers and plants chosen by the garden’s designers Joe Swift, Cleve West, Bunny Guinness and James Alexander-Sinclair.
