FORDINGBRIDGE Fire Station has welcomed the arrival of a state-of-the art fire engine.

The new appliance was delivered this week.

Fordingbridge Fire Station Watch Manager Pete White said: “It really is a great addition for us at Fordingbridge and will help to maintain crew safety for ourselves and also to protect our local communities into the future.

“We are very proud to have been given this new fire appliance.”

It is fitted with a CAFS system which produces a foam concentrate that can be used on thatch roof fires and other property fires and rapidly decreases the amount of water we use meaning the appliance can operate for longer which is beneficial when working in remote areas and in situations when crews are waiting for further fire crews to arrive.

It also has the latest battery operated cutting and spreading equipment.
