DOWNTON Primary School Choir will be joining Tenors Unlimited on stage as part of a nationwide tour heading to Salisbury next week.

The internationally acclaimed operatic trio Tenors Unlimited will be performing their show From Venice to Vegas on Wednesday, June 28, 7.30pm, for one night only.

They have performed alongside such notables as Sting, Lionel Richie, Beyoncé, Hayley Westenra, Simply Red and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to name just a few.

This year they have been performing at sell out shows in the USA, Bermuda and the UK.

Tenors Unlimited’s wide-ranging repertoire includes the ever popular classics La Donna E Mobile, The Pearl Fishers Duet and Nessun Dorma, interspersed with crooner and pop favourites such as Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud; Sting’s Fragile, Freddie Mercury’s Barcelona, Volare, Moon River as well as songs written by Tenors Unlimited themselves.

Downton Primary School Choir, formed by Becky Arch in 2009, has sung in many concerts and competitions, notably at Salisbury Cathedral, and at the Anvil Theatre in Basingstoke for The National Choir of the Year Competition in 2012 and again in 2016. In March 2013, it sang at the Barbican in the finals for Barnardo’s National Choir Competition.

Last July the choir performed in L’Estrange’s AHOY at the Salisbury Playhouse. In May 2016, the choir was runner-up for the title of Wiltshire Choir of the Year.

Jem Sharples from Tenors Unlimited said: “We perform a wide repertoire of all music so there is sure to be something for everyone.”
