A GROUP of sporting novices including two Salisbury people took on an epic seven-day walk in the Scottish Highlands to raise money for children’s charity Kidasha, who support some of the most vulnerable children in Nepal.

The 35-strong team chose to either walk or canoe the 73-mile length of the Great Glen Way or cycle the 516 miles of the ‘North Coast 500’ route.

Local residents Elizabeth Waterman and Andrew Snell both decided to grab their walking poles and do the challenge on foot, walking the equivalent of three marathons during the week.

Luckily, the sun shined on the group as they battled blisters and braved hills during their way round the route.

While Elizabeth and the other walkers took the one rest day to relax and recuperate, Andrew took advantage of the location and climbed Ben Nevis instead.

So far the group has raised £35,000 for Kidasha.
