IT was another bad day at the office for Redlynch & Hale, who travelled to Bramshaw and lost by seven wickets.
No one seemed to be able to get going against some tight bowling as Mike Kingston (2-33) and Joe Coombs (2-28) swifly made inroads. At 62-6 it was as good as over for the visitors, although a cameo of 23 from Jack Vincent nudged the total past 3 figures.
Dave Streather (2-11) finished off the tail with just 121 on the board.
With not much to defend the bowlers faced an uphill struggle. Russ Church (1-23) broke through to make it 28-1 and Will Hewlett (1-28) castled Sam Labbalester, but Andy Hart was now in full flow.
Despite losing Simon Booth to Dave Webber, Zane De Monte (32*) joined Hart, who finished 58* to take the spoils by 7 wickets and over 15 overs in hand.
The club’s 2nd XI hosted Sporting Wessex in Reg Div 1 where Ben Lindsay (79) and Harvey Boardman (51) were the mainstays in a total of 165-3.
After the interval, Jack Sobucinski was soon among the wickets with 3-22 and when Dom Sell (3-24) had M. Burrows stumped on 63, it was left to Boardman (1-19) and father, Stan (2-30) to mop things up for a 35 run victory
At Michelmersh & Timsbury the 3rd XI racked up 251-5, with Andy Church scoring a personal best 111 not out.
In reply, the home side struggled from the start and were all out for just 96 with a brace apiece for Michael Brown, Sam Chantry (on debut) and Ian Dixon.
