A SPECIALIST nursery has received a makeover thanks to supermarket staff.

The John McNeill Opportunity Centre is south Wiltshire’s only specialist nursery.

It provides care and services for children with difficulties or disabilities, including helping children with cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome and autism.

Staff from Tesco Extra, on Southampton Road, Salisbury, raised money in store to improve the facilities and spent a week working to refurbish the centre last month.

Angela Bryant, manager at the John McNeill centre said: "Tesco have been amazing - they have worked all day over the last week fitting new kitchens, painting and decorating, gardening, undertaking maintenance work etc.

"We would never have been able to do this ourselves and most of the interior work, apart from painting, has not been touched since we opened in 1989.

"The Centre looks bright and fresh and we even have a new shed and some IT equipment, and other resources for the children.

"We are so grateful to Ian and Mark and all the team at Tesco, with special thanks to Gilbert and Lorna who have always supported us."
