MORE than £2,600 has been raised to help pay for specialist therapy for a toddler who cannot walk or talk due to a rare genetic condition.

Lucy Dunn’s son Louis, two and a half, was born with a congenital disorder of glycosylation (CDG) Type 1A which means he has a developmental delay and is unable to sit without help, crawl, walk or talk.

She launched the Love for Louis campaign to raise money towards intensive physio and speech and language therapy.

“We need to keep this going and keep this out there,” said Lucy. “We have the first event organised in September and we have more ideas about fundraising.”

Lucy and Louis have been supported by charity Just4Children to get the Love for Louis campaign started.

Louis has been to London for five days of intensive therapy, which Lucy says went really well.

“It was amazing. You could see such an improvement after two days,” she said.

Lucy, who is from Fovant, is asking anyone interested in helping fundraise to get in touch through the Love for Louis Facebook page. She is also looking for sports clubs in the area to get involved with the fundraising campaign.

Lucy has thanked everyone who has supported the Love for Louis campaign so far.

The Baby Grow Club is holding a coffee and cake morning on Sunday, September 10 from 10am-1pm at 85 Estcourt Road, Salisbury.
