A HUGE queue of traffic has built up on Southampton Road on the way into Salisbury causing severe delays of over 45 minutes for some motorists.
A lorry failing to fit under the railway bridge at Petersfinger is believed to be part of the problem, as well as roadworks in New Bridge Road.
With traffic backed up past Alderbury, some drivers have abandoned their cars, accordng to eye wtnesses.
Highways England is expecting the jam to clear by 5.30pm
