A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a crash near Marlborough last week was from Salisbury, police have said.
The crash happened at about 11am on the A346 near Ogbourne St George last Monday.
The rider, a man in his 60s, has not yet been formally identified but police have today confirmed he was from the Salisbury area.
He was heading south on his Triumph motorbike when it is believed the fell into the path of a Hyundai I10, which was travelling north.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
PC Stephen Hughes, of the Policing Unit, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision itself who has not already spoken to police, as well as anyone who may have seen either the Hyundai or the motorcyclist prior to the collision.
“Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
“Our thoughts remain with the family of the motorcyclist at this very sad time.”
