A TAXI driver was assaulted on Pennings Road in Tidworth.
Police say in the early hours of Sunday, September 10 an altercation took place between passengers in a taxi.
When the driver tried to get one offender out of his vehicle he was assaulted.
The driver, although shaken, was not seriously injured.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage and has been released under investigation.
Sergeant Andrea Faircloth said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was in this area at this time to come forward - if you heard or saw anything suspicious please contact me.
"We'd also like to speak to a woman who called police but didn't leave her name or number, if that was you please come forward again."
