THE mercurial talents of English songwriting legend Boo Hewerdine and acclaimed American blues guitarist and songwriter Brooks Williams combine to form State of the Union.

The original songs Hewerdine and Williams play are infused with influences from Willie Nelson to Johnny Cash.

State of the Union perform at Salisbury Arts Centre on Saturday (September 23) at 8pm. Doors open at 7.15 pm. Tickets are £14, and available online at salisburyartscentre.co.uk or from the box office by calling 01722 321744.

And Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi (A Separation) returns with The Salesman, a drama exploring how unexpected cracks can form in the foundations of a seemingly happy marriage.
