SALISBURY Baroque is performing a concert of music by Georg Philipp Telemann on Sunday.

It on Sunday takes place at St Thomas’s Church, Salisbury, 3.30pm. Catherine Mackintosh, who was the leader of Academy of Ancient Music, co-leader of Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, makes her debut directing Salisbury Baroque. The concert is in commemoration of Telemann’s death 250 years ago. The orchestra members are looking forward to performing the Suite Burlesque de Quixotte, the Concerto for Flute, Violin and Cello in A and Suite in E minor from the Tafelmusik I.

Founded by David Morgan, Salisbury Baroque was set up in 2010 to enable local players and some colleagues from further afield to share their passion for the music of Bach and Handel and their contemporaries with audiences in historic settings.

Tickets are available online at salisburybaroque.org.uk, the Music Room in Catherine Street, Salisbury or on the door.
