FORDINGBRIDGE Town Council has welcomed a new councillor to serve the community.

Pete White, who is the watch manager at Fordingbridge Fire Station, was co-opted on to the town council following the resignation of Councillor Susan Bailey who stepped down due to other commitments.

The town council heard representations from candidates standing for co-option at its meeting on Wednesday, September 6.

Cllr White says he is looking forward to taking on the role.

“I’m quite excited,” he said. “It is a good opportunity to help give something back to the town.

“I want to support the town the best way I can.”

“I’m looking forward to it,” he added. “It is unknown territory for me but I want to give it my best.

“I’m really pleased to have been offered the role.”
