FORDINGBRIDGE Town Council has welcomed a new councillor to serve the community.
Pete White, who is the watch manager at Fordingbridge Fire Station, was co-opted on to the town council following the resignation of Councillor Susan Bailey who stepped down due to other commitments.
The town council heard representations from candidates standing for co-option at its meeting on Wednesday, September 6.
Cllr White says he is looking forward to taking on the role.
“I’m quite excited,” he said. “It is a good opportunity to help give something back to the town.
“I want to support the town the best way I can.”
“I’m looking forward to it,” he added. “It is unknown territory for me but I want to give it my best.
“I’m really pleased to have been offered the role.”
