A BOY of 15 was arrested last night (Thursday) when police pounced on a suspected drug deal in Harnham.

Officers were in the park at the cricket ground in Netherhampton Road at about 9.30pm when they interrupted a suspected deal taking place.

The teenager from London ran but was caught in St Marys Road, a nearby cul-de-sac.

It is understood that plain-clothed officers and a dog unit were involved in the chase.

The youngster had cash and a phone, and class A drugs were found close by.

He was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and was taken to custody in Melksham where he currently remains.
