PLANS have been submitted for the final batch of residential properties, a care home and new employment space at a major development on the edge of Ringwood.

The proposals for land at Crow Lane and Crow Arch Lane have been produced by developers Linden Homes.

This follows approval of the first phase of the scheme for 62 homes by New Forest District Council (NFDC) in March this year.

Phase two of the plans include details of the remaining 113 homes, 56 of which will be affordable.

These will be a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five bedroom houses.

The third phase of the development includes the provision for a two-storey 60-bed care home and 31 employment units predominantly for light industrial and office uses.

The initial outline application for 175 homes on the site was approved back in 2014.

The final two phases have been submitted as separate applications covering reserved matters.

A public consultation was held this summer on phase two of the development and Linden Homes said they received positive responses from residents.

Ringwood Town Council recently met with Linden Homes to discuss phase three of the development.

The council is expected to meet at the start of November to formalise their response to NFDC.

A statement from Linden Homes says the developer has sought to engage fully with its immediate neighbours, the wider community and local councillors, and to respond to feedback received.

A Linden Homes spokesperson said: "We've taken time to talk to our neighbours and to local councillors to ensure that the details of what we are proposing are fully understood and to receive their feedback.

"There is a clear demand for our new homes - properties in phase 1 are already selling well.

"As we move forward the scheme will deliver many more affordable homes – there will be 50% across the site, available both for shared ownership and rent – as well as employment space suitable for start-ups and workshops.

“Members of the public can now comment on our applications via New Forest District Council’s planning portal, before the Planning Committee decides on the proposals early next year.

"We look forward to continuing to work with officers and the community throughout the planning application process, and beyond during the construction phases.”

Residents have until Sunday November 5 to comment on the phase two plans and until Sunday November 12 for phase three.
