PEOPLE are being urged to look out for a missing dog that has been running scared round Salisbury for more than a week.

Darcy the black Labrador escaped from a house in Highbury Avenue on Friday October 27.

She was staying with friends of her owners, who live in Winchester, so she is not familiar with the area.

Four-year-old Darcy was last seen near Hudson’s Field in the early hours of Sunday, but there have been sightings at Waitrose and at Laverstock.

All the sightings are being mapped by experienced rescuers, who are working on a plan to catch her.

They are urging anyone who spots Darcy not to approach her or chase her but to phone 07738 151073 with details.

She is a working gundog, so owner Tracey Lister hopes she will not have been traumatised by the weekend firework displays.

“But she is very wary of people she doesn’t know,” said Mrs Lister, “and she will be so frightened by now that any approach will only make her run.

“But if you can work out which direction she has come from and where she is heading, please let us know.”
