CHILDREN at Fordingbridge Day Nursery were joined by the town’s firefighters for a special visit last week.

The youngsters were given the chance to find out more about the fire engine from the firefighters at Fordingbridge Fire Station and they also got to sit inside and try on fire helmets.

“We had a lovely visit from our local fire brigade,” said nursery manager Sandra Johnson. “The firemen explained to the children about the fire engine and gave them a tour of the engine and they were able to see all the different hoses and the magic key they used access to water.”

One of the children said: “[The sirens] were very noisy.”
