ART connoisseurs celebrated the launch of a new exhibition at Salisbury’s Young Gallery.
A collection by German artist Kathe Kollwitz was unveiled, in collaboration with the British Museum, in the venue’s refurbished and upgraded Main Gallery.
Local art figures, including Sally McLaren, Steve Nevill and Val Stephenson, joined British Museum and Royal Academy figures and Salisbury MP John Glen to mark the event.
Gallery curator Peter Riley said: “This wonderful turn out shows the demand in Salisbury and around for culture of the highest order.
“With this refurbished gallery we can hold world-class exhibitions as demonstrated by this Kollwitz exhibition.”
The exhibition runs until March 11.
