TWO special guests - rare breed Comtois heavy horses - were chomping at the bit for the grand re-opening of Forest Pet Supplies in Hyde.

The business, which is based at Hyde Garden Shop, has now moved into new and bigger premises on the same site and celebrated the special occasion on Saturday.

Comtois heavy horses, Belle and Bresil did the honours of cutting or rather chomping through the ribbon. The horses are owned by David Shering who is a regular customer at the store.

Assistant manager Malaika Robbins-Kletta, said: “We were very busy and we were really pleased with the turn out of customers that came out on Saturday.

“It was such a beautiful thing to have [the Comtois horses].

“A lot of people came to see them.”

And speaking about the bigger premises, she said: “It means we can have a more of a range stock and customers can come to one place for everything.”

Forest Pet Supplies sells a range of pet and animal supplies as well as tools, garden equipment and some household items.
