THERE was an unusual site at River Bourne Community Farm at the weekend as knights dressed in armour descended on the family attraction.
Members of the Battle Heritage combat team visited the farm on Sunday to show off their skills and get others involved in the Medieval past time.
Treasurer and fighter Mike White said: “People who saw us loved it. We couldn’t say enough how this wasn’t re-enactment but that it is a full combat sport.”
During the day the armoured fighters carried out one-on-one battles and introduced new people using soft replica swords.
“We are all great friends before and after we step into the list [fighting ring] we are not friends,” Mike added.
Before the training session Mike and another member of the team were able to show off their swords in the city centre - thanks to the kindness of Wiltshire Police.
“It gave people the chance to see what we are about.”
