THE A303 close to Amesbury has reopened following a two-vehicle collision.

The crash involving a car and a van took place shortly before 6pm on the westbound stretch of the carriageway between the A345 and A360.

Wiltshire Police reported that the road was blocked between the A360 Longbarrow Roundabout and the Countess Roundabout at the A345 in the area of Stonehenge.

Highways England confirmed that the road reopened shortly before 10pm.

Fire crews from Salisbury Fire Station were called to the scene, and a man was cut free from a vehicle.

He was then left in the care of the ambulance service.

The extent of his injuries are not yet known.
