Southampton Orienteering Club is is holding a family friendly event and a chance to get out and about at Telegraph Woods on Saturday between 10.30am and 12.30pm, suitable for beginners and people of all ages. Orienteering is an exciting and challenging outdoor sport that exercises mind and body. The aim is to navigate between control points marked on an orienteering map. In competitive orienteering the challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time choosing your own best route. For experienced orienteers there will be a 60 minute score course - bag as many controls as you can in one hour. Coaching and advice is available on the day. 2 In Eling...

The 23rd annual Totton Donkey Derby is on Saturday from 1 - 5pm on Eling Recreation Ground. Organised by and raising funds for the 4th New Forest North Eling Sea Scout Group and sponsored by Royston Group, it includes seven races plus a grand final. There will be lots of stalls and activities, including a coconut shy, tombolas, hoopla, face painting, donkey rides, bouncy castles and African drumming. Refreshments include burgers, hot dogs, wood fired pizza, freshly made doughnuts, cakes and local strawberries. Entry is just £1.50 per adult on the day, accompanied children are free, £1 per advance programme.

Looking for something to do on Friday? Itchen Fest is a festival held at Itchen Sixth Form College between 11am and 4pm. Hosted and organised by some of the colleges talented performing arts students, it features some talented students as well as outside artists, including Calum Lintott and other forms of entertainment along with some pretty tasty food!

Love browsing for a bargain? Join in the Village Garage/Garden Sale Trail around Colden Common on Sunday between 11.00am – 3.00pm without the early start of a car boot sale. Local villagers are organising a trail around their village, of people having their own mini car boot sales on their drive. It has been a popular idea, and they are hoping for plenty of shoppers on the day. Maps are available from Colden Common Community Centre, Colden Common Parish Council, The Rising Sun pub and friendly people around the village, they can also be found on the Colden Common Community Centre Facebook page.

The Bill Targett Memorial Steam Rally takes place this weekend at Highbridge Farm in Eastleigh. There will be an impressive line up of steam and vintage vehicles along with a selection of family friendly events throughout the day. The event will be supporting the Wessex Cancer Trust and Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance. Admission is £7 for adults, £4 for children and a family ticket is £20.

Cheer on Southampton FC at St Mary's Stadium as they take on Manchester City in the final game of the season on Sunday. The Saints are hoping to secure their survival in the Premier League and are in need of all the support they can get! Sing your hearts out to Oh When The Saints in the stands, wear your stripes with pride and soak up the atmosphere of the match day experience as the city gets behind manager, Mark Hughes, and the boys! Arrive early to check out the players arriving, grab a bargain in the Megastore before enjoying a hot dog and a drink.

Get to see mosaics and a reconstructed Victorian High Street Shops. There are plenty of hands-on activities for all the family to enjoy during your visit. Become an amateur archaeologist and handle real artefacts, turn detective and solve the spotter trail, or why not pretend to be a Roman or Saxon and try on the costumes they would have worn?

If you've ever fancied yourself as the next Steffi Graf or Andy Murray, then why not join Lymington Tennis Club at The Sports Ground in Avenue Road for a fun day of tennis at the start of the summer season on Saturday! There will be free tennis taster sessions running throughout the day for adults and juniors and all equipment is provided... so you just need to take yourself along and practice your swing! Take a look round the clubhouse and meet other members, plus find out about any special membership offers on the day.

A free spring concert takes place at the Museum of Army Flying on Saturday. The talented musicians from the Army Medical Services Band will fill the Museum’s Hayward Hall with the sounds of their great repertoire of music. There is no need to book in advance, just turn up on the night and be blown away by the music on offer. The Band has a long history and a reputation of the highest level and the varied membership include police officers, teachers, company directors, and civil servants undertaking a varied number of engagements throughout the year. As well as supporting military events, dinner nights, concerts, ensemble work and other musical groups, the AMS band perform at the Museum of Army Flying twice a year, including the hugely popular Christmas Carol Concert.

10 In Bursledon...

Go and see the stunning restored Bursledon Windmill, learn all about how windmills work and the history behind them. Bursledon Windmill is Hampshire's only working windmill. Built in 1814, it was restored and reopened in 1990 as a working windmill and heritage visitor attraction. Other buildings on the site include the Chineham Barn, rescued from demolition, which houses the ticket office and other visitor facilities. The Hiltingbury Granary is an 18th century farm building, which stores the grain and you can have a go at grinding flour by hand using the ancient saddle quern or the medieval rotary quern.. The pond, to water the farmers horses, has been re-dug in its original location and the children will also enjoy looking for wildlife in the pond where you might see a large variety of animal and insect life.
