The New Forest Roads Campaign has called on drivers to take extra care through the all areas of the New Forest to avoid the animals, as well as the foals being born.

Drivers are advised to slow down and pass wide.

A spokesperson said: "There are a few foals around now and it's not always easy to spot them when they are close to their mums. They may suddenly dart out into the road and have no road sense at all. Please help them to stay safe."

The group campaign to reduce the number of collisions with Forest ponies, cattle, pigs, and sheep through education and awareness.
