A LONG-TERM resident at Dogs Trust Salisbury has finally found a new home after nearly 600 days in kennels.

Seven-year-old terrier cross Bailey arrived at the Newton Tony-based rehoming centre in September 2016 heavily pregnant and went onto have seven puppies who all found new homes.

But now Bailey is now starting a new chapter having been adopted by David and Ann Simpson who had their heart set on adopting her the moment they spotted her on the website.

David said: “We’re so excited to have Bailey in our family – she has definitely found her forever home with us. We’ve owned terriers before and when we saw Bailey, we just knew we had to adopt her.

“Her personality is really starting to show through and her character is just adorable. We can’t understand why she was overlooked for so long but now she’s with us, we can’t wait to give her the best life possible.”

Tery Laffin, the rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Salisbury, said: “We’re delighted that Bailey has found a loving family, although we were all really sad to see her go as she was such a cheeky girl.

“Bailey was with us a while but we know she’ll be very happy with the Simpson family who tell us she is settling in really well. She’s really landed on her paws.”

Dogs Trust Salisbury has rehomed nearly 200 dogs so far this year.
