AN autistic teenager has sent a special message to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to congratulate them on their wedding, and thank them for inspiring him.

Charlie Henry, of Shrewton, started his own pop-up card business as part of an enterprise project for autistic teenagers.

When the 18-year-old heard about the Royal Wedding, he created a card specially for the occasion.

He sent it to Prince Harry and his new bride, with a personal letter to them.

Charlie wrote: “This is a handmade special card that I created to send to you so that I could wish you many congratulations for your wedding day.

“I am autistic and love 3D pop up cards. Like many people with autism I am very good at structured tasks, following processes, and having attention to detail.”

He added: “My mother is white and my father is black so I am brown and proud of it!

“It is wonderful that Meghan is such a positive role model for other bi-racial people too.

“Thank you for all the work that you do to raise the profile of mental health issues. This is something close to my heart as I have had mental health wobbles since I was 13 years old (I have now just turned 18).

“All the best for your special day.”

Charlie’s mum Caroline said: “I’m immensely proud of Charlie.

“People think of autism as something negative, but he’s using the strengths of being organised and liking routines and structure as a positive.”
