THE community of Fordingbridge will be coming together for live music and entertainment this month to support two good causes.

Fordingbridge Fire Station is once again holding its popular A Party in the Park on Saturday, June 30.

The event, which is in its fourth year, is in aid of The Firefighters Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The line-up of live music includes Snatch Rescue, Court House 5, Fit for Purpose, Where’s Alice, Kyrum, Markey Mansbridge and a DJ.

Fordingbridge watch manager Pete White said: “It is an event to bring the community together, hopefully in the sunshine, to enjoy some local bands and fun.”

In addition to live music there will be activities for children including a bouncy castle and ice cream.

A fully licensed bar and food will also be available on the day.

Pete added: “It is an event for the community. It is a chance for Fordingbridge to come together in a beautiful setting by the river and to support two really good charities.”

He also hopes it will encourage people into the town and to also support local businesses.

Last year’s A Party in the Park was in memory of 22-year-old Connor Johnson from Ringwood, who died after a crash on the A31, and raised £4,000 which was split between Dorset Mind and the Firefighters Charity.

The event was attended by about 300 people.

Wristband tickets are £10 and available from Fordingbridge Petrol Station, The Cottage Loaf, Fordingbridge Bookshop, Bridges Restaurant, and Emily’s Beauty.

Alternatively they are available online at fordingbridgefirestation.co.uk

On-site camping will again be available and pitches cost £10.
