A CALL for help to replace Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital’s ambulance has been answered by Animal Friends Insurance.
The Amesbury-based pet insurer donated £15000 to the charity, which is located in Newton Tony, after its ambulance gave up the ghost.
Mike Korkis, the Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital’s manager, said: “It will make all the difference to the charity to have a reliable ambulance to rescue the sick, injured or orphaned wildlife that needs our help, whatever the situation.”
Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital provides a 24-hour rescue and advice service for Wiltshire’s wildlife.
Their team of volunteers rescue, treat, care for and rehabilitate mammals, birds and reptiles in preparation for their release back to the wild in and around the Wiltshire area.
The managing director of Animal Friends Insurance, Westley Pearson, added: “Through our donation to Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital we continue to commit ourselves to helping animals in need across the UK.
“As a local company we all look forward to seeing this great new ambulance as it travels across Wiltshire on its mission to rescue animals.”
Since starting in 1998, has to-date donated more than £3.5m to animal charities worldwide.
