A FETE held by the Bishop of Salisbury on Sunday raised £12,000 for lifesaving medical equipment in South Sudan.
The annual summer event was attended by abut 800 people, and is in aid of the Salisbury Sudan Medical Link.
Helen Holtam, event organiser, said: “This lovely day out is fun for people of all ages, bringing the generations together. It raises money to purchase basic medical equipment and train midwives and clinical staff for South Sudan, one of the world’s poorest countries. The support of people in Salisbury is much appreciated by people in a country where even basic antibiotics and painkillers are often difficult to come by. Your support for the fete changes lives and saves lives.”
