THE owner of the Rose and Thistle in Rockbourne has been recognised with an Acorn award.

Chris Chester-Sterne was presented with the award during a ceremony at The Lygon Arms.

Hospitality magazine, the Caterer’s annual Acorn Awards are now in their 32nd year and recognise the brightest prospects in the hospitality sector.

Speaking of his award win, Christopher said: “It is an incredible honour to be presented with an Acorn Award. I have had the opportunity to work with many inspirational colleagues over the years who have filled me with a passion to excel in the industry and help me build a platform to develop my career.”

Starting his career in the hospitality industry aged only 17 at Stanwell House Hotel, Chris received three promotions within three years to front of house manager.

Showing his ambition and appetite for the industry Chris then moved to become a duty manager at the Montague Arms before buying Chris purchased The Rose and Thistle in December 2014 at the age of 21.
