TWO Ringwood School students have reached the national finals of Media Magazine’s Production Competition.

Year 11 student Harvey Graham and sixth former Isaac Skirton have had their productions shortlisted in the top 10 entries from schools and post 16 providers across the UK. Harvey will be competing in the Openings and Trailers category for his production of Undertaker and Isaac will be competing in the Music Videos category for Legohouse.

A screening of all shortlisted productions will take place at the BFI Southbank in London on Monday, July 2 where the winners will be announced.

The annual competition attracts hundreds of entries across the categories of music videos, openings and trailers, documentaries and short films.

Harvey’s production will be competing against entries from seven other schools and Isaac’s production will be competing against entries from nine other schools, all from across the UK.

This is the second time that Ringwood School has submitted work from its students and also the second time that students have been shortlisted.

Angela Jones, the head of key stage 5 Media at Ringwood School, said: “Both Harvey and Isaac are extremely talented creative individuals. Harvey’s film noir style crime thriller opening is one of the best I’ve ever seen a Year 11 student produce.

"Issac’s music video for Legohouse is both cinematically and technically fantastic. He has animated and created sound effects himself which would have taken hours of work in the editing process. I am immensely proud of both students, they clearly both have bright futures ahead of them in the media/film industries. We are thrilled to be accompanying them to the awards, fingers crossed."
