A NEW hub to provide entertainment and activities for people of all ages has opened in the city.

Louella Adamson has started @Home Salisbury at the former Truth Bar in Bridge Street and a special party was held on Saturday to mark the launch.

@Home aims to provide a range of community activities to cater for seniors, aged 65 and older, children and young people. These include knit and natter groups and after school activities.

“It is going to be a reason to stay in the city and something to do [for children] after school. It will have something for everyone.”

@Home Salisbury will also have a room especially for teenagers where they can play computer games, talk and “hang out”.

“There is not really anywhere for them to go,” said Louella, who hopes the venue will provide a safe place for them.

The venue will also host under 18s events as well as events for the community including comedy nights, circus and drag acts, Mental Mondays talks and more.

“It will bring something they haven’t had before,” said Louella.

“It is very exciting. It has been a dream for about seven years.”

Louella hopes to build @Home into a franchise and have venues across the country.
