"YOU don't have to be a Scot to find your foot tapping to the irresistible rhythms of our stirring reels, jigs and traditional strathspeys."

So say the New Forest Scottish Country Dancers and this was fully endorsed by members of Ringwood and Fordingbridge Club for the Blind, on a very warm July afternoon, at Greyfriars Activity Centre.

Beautifully led by Maggie Morgan, eight dancers introduced the club to a variety of Scottish dances, inviting members and volunteers to 'have a go' too, after a brief demonstration.

In addition to a weekly class, the New Forest Scottish Country Dancers also have a display team who entertain at local fetes, charities, private and public events. Their dancing was thoroughly enjoyed by all at the blind club and the dancers stayed on to enjoy the afternoon tea which followed.

Anyone with a visual impairment is welcome to join this friendly social club which meets every second and fourth Thursday of each month 2.15 to 4.15pm.
