WHITEPARISH Music Festival organisers are proud to announce their recent event raised over £1,500 for Parochial Church Council, which will be used to assist the maintenance of the village church.

The village were spoilt for choice back in April with a vast selection of musical talent throughout the week including The Vinyl Beats, members from the University of Winchester Music Centre and musicians from the village primary school.

The weekend ended with the sell-out recital from Salisbury Cathedral Choir in the village church, performing a range of classics from the Anglican repertoire.

Paul Gooderham, a member of the organising committee, said: “Running the church is a costly business!

"This much loved building at the heart of the village is expensive to maintain, as old buildings tend to be yet it contributes so much to village life.”
