THE Wiltshire Wheels for All Project is back and aims to encourage disabled people to get on their bikes in Salisbury.
Sessions will be held every Wednesday from 5-6pm at the Salisbury Athletic Track, South Wilts Grammar School.
Wiltshire Council has invested £37,000 in the scheme, which provides bikes that are adapted to suit cyclists with a range of disabilities. They include recumbent cycles, hand cycles, tricycles, tandems and a wheelchair transporter. But riders are welcome to bring their own adapted bikes.
John Thomson, Wiltshire Council’s cabinet member for leisure, said: “Wheels for All is a wonderful project that allows people to practise cycling in a safe environment away from traffic and other riders. It encourages individuals to be physically active regardless of their age or ability.”
Sessions will be held every Wednesday from 5-6pm at the Salisbury Athletic Track, South Wilts Grammar School. Parents, carers and siblings are encouraged to join in. With free parking available at Five Rivers Health and the Wellbeing centre.
