CORDONS set up outside the back of The Cloisters Pub near Brown Street Car Park have now been removed.

The cordons were put in place this morning as part of the ongoing nerve agent investigation.

At about 11am two bins from the cordoned off area behind Catherine Street were removed and were were taken to the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory at Porton Down for further analysis.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police this evening said: "Now that the bins have been removed, cordons which were put in place around the bins as a precaution have been removed.

"The advice from Public Health England remains that the risk to the public is low.

"Police searches are ongoing at a number of sites, including the Queen Elizabeth Gardens in Salisbury which has been identified as a location that Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley had visited prior to them falling ill.

"As a highly precautionary measure, the park is subject of an extensive search to ensure that there is nothing of investigative relevance at that location and to provide confidence to the public that it is safe to use the area when it is reopened."

The town path was reopened to the public on Tuesday, July 31, and investigations in John Baker House have been completed, however Elizabeth Gardens is still under extensive search and investigation.

When the cordon was put in place this morning the Met Police said: "The Counter Terrorism Policing Network are continuing to speak to Charlie Rowley about his recollections prior to him falling ill.

"As a result of this, a new cordon has been put in place behind shops on Catherine Street, Salisbury.

"It is likely that the public will see increased police activity in this area.

"This precautionary measure has been taken so that the investigation team can understand the relevance of this location."

Yesterday, the air ambulance base in Semington was temporarily closed to allow for precautionary testing to be carried out as part of the ongoing operation into the Amesbury poisoning.

This will involve testing emergency vehicles and kit worn by responders involved in the initial response to Charlie Rowley and Dawn Sturgess.

During this time the air ambulance will also be the subject of precautionary sampling and will be unable to fly.
