A homeowner returned home from hospital on Tuesday night to find their house had been burgled.

Items including a safe containing cash and a Rolex watch were stolen from a house in the Hollows, in Wilton, between 7pm on August 6 and 7.30pm on August 7.

The house was broken into via a back door.

Other items stolen include a gold engagement ring with red rupee surrounded by diamonds, and a Santander credit card.

Sergeant Tracey Holloway said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in The Hollows area during these times.

"The homeowner had returned home from hospital to find the house had been burgled and is understandably very shaken and upset.

“Our enquiries are currently ongoing, but if anyone has information, please get in touch via 101 and quote crime reference number 54180074235.”
