THE family of a 21-year-old who died after a crash on the A36 are honouring the memory of the "fun-loving and compassionate" young man.

Alex Brown, from Wylye, died in hospital on August 10 after being involved in a crash near the Crockerton Roundabout on August 5.

His father Graham, brother Barry and his fiancée Lauren Martin will be taking part in a skydive from 15,000ft on September 16 to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance Trust.

Alex’s mum Lorraine said: “It was something that we were always going to do. Sadly he passed away before this dream could be fulfilled. It will make this jump all the more special.

“It will be a very emotional time leading up and during the jump. Alex was an amazing fun loving, hardworking, compassionate young man with enthusiasm and a passion for life.

“Doing this in his memory is a huge roller coaster of emotions.”

This will be the first time Barry and Lauren have done a skydive. Graham has previously done a jump for charity.

“It will be a very difficult but emotional jump for the memory of Alex.” Added Lorraine. “Doing this in his memory is a huge roller coaster of emotions.

The family hope to raise at least £1,500 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance Trust.

Lorraine said: “The air ambulance is something none of us know when we may need it, you don't have to be on a road you could be out walking/cycling or at home.

“It's the fastest way to get you help. It's an invaluable service we are so very grateful to have in Wiltshire.

“Sadly they couldn't save Alex but we did have time to say goodbye.

"The air ambulance costs thousands to fly every day and is funded by the public, we need to keep them flying you never know when any of us may need them.

“We would very much like them to be able to save others. You can't put a price on the amazing service they provide.”
