YOUTUBE star Joe Sugg is the fourth celebrity to sign up for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing competition starting in September.

The 26-year-old from Lacock, who is the brother of mega YouTube star Zoella, has millions of fans around the world after finding fame as a British YouTuber.

He is also a filmmaker, author, and vlogger who is best-known for his YouTube channels, ThatcherJope, ThatcherJoeVlogs and ThatcherJoeGames.

Mr Sugg, who went to The Corsham School, is hoping that Strictly Come Dancing will provide him with a launchpad into mainstream television.

Joe said: "So this is actually happening. Thank you so much. The support has been unreal.

"I can’t dance but hopefully I’ll do you all proud and you can make some great memes out of me. Thanks @bbcstrictly for giving me this opportunity."

His sister, Zoe Sugg, who Vlogs under the name Zoella, and her boyfriend, fellow YouTube star Alfie Deyes, are likely to be in the audience each week cheering him on.

A Joe Sugg spokesman said: “Zoe, Alfie and the rest of his YouTube friends are going to be there supporting him in the audience every week – even if he’s not the best dancer his fan base is a force to be reckoned with.”

Mr Sugg created his ThatcherJoe YouTube channel in November 2011 and now has more than eight million subscribers and over one billion video views. His videos consist of challenges, pranks, and impressions.

The name of Mr Sugg’s YouTube channel is derived from his early career training as a roofing thatcher.

Mr Sugg was on the 2014 Band Aid single, Do They Know It’s Christmas?, and is also a published author of several highly successful graphic books.His graphic novel, Username Evie, published in 2015, was inspired by the work he did as part of his Media Studies A Level at Corsham School and became the fastest selling graphic novel since records began.

His DVD Joe and Caspar Hit The Road, made with fellow YouTuber Caspar Lee, shot to the top of the best-seller charts at Christmas 2015 and has since been broadcast on E4.

Other celebrities already announced for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing include acid attack victim and TV presenter Katie Piper; Faye Tozer, the singer from Steps; and Danny John-Jules, who played Cat in the sci-fi series Red Dwarf and Dwayne Myers in the crime drama Death in Paradise.

Others rumoured to be taking to the floor this series include Olympic diver Tom Daley and Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts.

The professional dancers who will be returning to the Strictly ballroom once again are: AJ Pritchard, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Anton Du Beke, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Janette Manrara, Karen Clifton, Katya Jones, Kevin Clifton, Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones, Oti Mabuse and Pasha Kovalev.
