CHILDREN had fun creating their own wartime-inspired toys.
The special workshop was held at Salisbury Museum last week as part of the museum’s Discovery Days this summer.
A spokesman for the museum said: “We were pleased to welcome around 100 children and their grown-ups for the second in our programme of Discovery Days. This was a creative collaboration with Wiltshire Scrapstore, who brought an amazing array of scrap materials, which only required a bit of imagination to be transformed into the sort of home-made toys that children would have made during wartime.
“The inspiration for the project was taken from our current exhibition of work by Henry Lamb, who was an official war artist during the Second World War.
“The children made tanks, robots and even games like cup and ball, having a huge amount of fun in the process.”
The next event, Vegetable Prints with Alex Hoare, is on Tuesday at 10am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4pm.
