Salisbury BID’s Cost Saving Scheme has saved the city's businesses more than £57,000 in savings since the scheme launched in April.

The Cost Saving Scheme uses the collective buying power of BID’s throughout the country to help cut costs and save businesses money.

Meercats Associates are the BID’s partners behind the scheme and they manage the whole process on behalf of the business.

Shirley Snells Florists on Milford Street is one of the BID members who have taken advantage of the scheme.

Owners of Shirley Snells, Phil and Jill Joliffe, said: “Salisbury BID’s Cost Savings Scheme has saved us £915 a year – almost 5 times our BID levy bill.

"As a small independent business, these are savings that we wouldn't have been able to secure on our own.

"We are absolutely over the moon and would recommend the scheme to all BID members.”

The Relph Ross Partnership Ltd (Architects) on Brown Street have also made a substantial saving thanks to the BID’s scheme.

Jonathan Ross, Director of The Relph Ross Partnership said: “The Salisbury BID’s Cost Saving Scheme has saved my business 6 times the amount of our annual BID levy bill.

"Our initial meeting with the partners at Meercats Associates was straightforward and easy.

"They took away copies of our bills and came back with identified saving.

"On our behalf, they’re now managing the whole process of transferring our contracts between suppliers.”

Savings on energy, telecoms, water, merchant fees and more can potentially be made.

Salisbury BID have funded the initiative and no commission is earned on the service and therefore all financial savings will be passed to the businesses.

The Cost Saving Scheme is free for all Salisbury BID members and members are being encouraged to contact the BID team to start cutting their business costs.
