MORE than £2,700 has been raised for the Stars Appeal in a year through Cinemania.
Film-watching families from across the region have proven just how generous they are, after £2,764 was raised for the Stars Appeal with Cinemania at the Old George Mall.
Taking place at intervals throughout the last 12 months, a whole host of free films have been shown on the special screen in the former BHS building.
Throughout the showings, collection buckets have been on-hand for people to donate.
Old George Mall centre manager Jon Osgood, said he was delighted with the total, adding: “When we teamed up with the Stars Appeal, we wanted to help them raise as much as possible and I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to do just that. It is great that so many families have dug deep to contribute to such an important charity for the city. I’d like to thank everyone who donated and played a part in raising such a fantastic total for a worthwhile cause.”
