BUS users in Salisbury can expect changes to their usual routes and routines as a new schedule comes into play this weekend.

Salisbury Reds is introducing significant changes to its timetable and routes for services in Wiltshire, from Sunday (September 2). There will also be several alterations to school buses from Monday.

As well as timetable improvements, the operator has recently introduced more convenient methods of payment for its services, including contactless payment and a mobile ticketing app, where passengers can use their phones as tickets.

Changes are being made to many of the buses including the active8 to Andover, which will have better connections with Andover trains on Sunday evenings.

There will also be two new routes: the Red 12 to Stratford sub Castle and the Red 14 to Harnham Hill. These services, currently operated by Wheelers, will now be run by Salisbury Reds.

Nikki Honer, Salisbury Reds’ head of communications said, “We have listened to our customers to find out which tweaks and improvements they would like to see, and they have been very clear about their priorities here.”
