TAKEAWAYS in Salisbury are mostly clean and safe, according to food hygiene ratings by industry inspectors.
Of 57 takeaways and sandwich shops in Salisbury and South Wiltshire, just seven per cent were rated as required improvement by the Food Standards Agency.
Three takeaways, Harnham Fishbar and Curryland, Jubliee Cafe in Larkhill and King Pizza and Chicken in Amesbury, require major improvements according to their most recent inspections (all carried out in the past year).
No establishments in the area were given the lowest rating of zero, which means urgent improvement is required.
And the majority (65 per cent) received the highest ratings possible, four and five, which means standards are "good" or "very good".
Almost a fifth received a rating of three, meaning overall standards are generally satisfactory.
And five establishments were awaiting inspection results.
The data used came from the Food Standards Agency website on September 11.
