FOREST Journal readers have raised more than £4,000 to help replace Avonway Community Centre's broken-down heating.
Readers stepped in after hearing of the plight of the centre's users, who were left shivering when a longed-for grant to replace the heating was not forthcoming. More money is needed, but readers' contributions means the work can now be started.
Forest Journal chief reporter Morwenna Blake said: "A big thank you must go out to all our readers, who have been so kind and generous."
