STALWART musicians from the Buena Vista Social Club head to Salisbury's City Hall from Havana for what promises to be another sell-out session in April.

You can expect some of the finest Cuban music ever made from the 12-piece band line-up that includes Guajiro Murabal, Cachaíto López, Manuel Galbán and Aguaje Ramos, and toes are sure to set tapping.

Led by Ian Anderson on flute and with Martin Barre on guitar, Jethro Tull also makes a welcome return to the city centre venue for a special 40th anniversary tour, again in April. A new show for dance enthusiasts of all ages and sizes is The Big Ballet.

This show has a slight quirk to it though, as all the dancers weigh more than 100 kilograms and break all the boundaries in choreography to achieve their talents.

Tribute shows are back, and you can indulge in the music of The Eagles with The Illegal Eagles, with hits from Hotel California to New Kid in Town, or experience the complete "off the wall" show of The Spirit of Pink Floyd complete with stunning visuals and spectacular lighting.

Comedy comes in all shapes and guises from Omid Djalili to Jethro and Jimmy Carr.

And younger audience members can escape with the Chuckle Brothers to Indiana Chuckles and the Kingdom of the Mythical Sulk.

Full details of all shows are available from the City Hall in Malthouse Lane.

  • Folk band, Show of Hands, have rearranged their cancelled gig at the City Hall and will now be performing on Thursday, April 17.

Tickets bought for the November gig will stay valid for this rescheduled performance.

However, if you are unable to attend the show in April, contact the City Hall box office for a full refund on 01722 434434.

Tickets are available for the April 17 performance.
