NOMINATE your NHS superstars in Salisbury.

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust Staff Awards 2021 has begun accepting nominations to recognise and celebrate its staff over of the past year, and this year two of the awards will be decided from nominations by patients and the public.

'A challenging year'

Stacey Hunter, the chief executive of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, said: "It’s been a challenging year for everyone in our community, and that challenge has been hugely felt by staff at Salisbury Hospital as they rose to the challenge of responding to the Covid-19 pandemic and cared for the hundreds of patients who were admitted to hospital.”

Award categories

There are 14 categories including the 'Patient Experience Award', decided only from nominations by patients and members of the public and the 'Compassion and Respect Award', based on nominations from staff and patients.

The ‘Patient Experience Award’ is for the team or individual that has made a significant impact upon improving the patient experience, either for an individual patient in their work area or for the Trust as a whole.

The 'Compassion and Respect Award' is for an individual or team that shows a genuine concern and compassion for others and is interested in others to help meet their needs whilst providing the best possible quality of care.

They treat people as valued individuals and strive to put the needs of others before their own, taking into account principles of equality and inclusion.

Winners announcement

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Salisbury Cathedral on September 23.

Stacey Hunter added: “It's been a year like no other and we hope that we can provide an awards event that acknowledges the incredible work of our staff over the past year.”
